Food for Thought

As part of our team's initiative to combat food insecurity on campus, we organized a kickoff event aimed at bolstering the food pantry at FAU. Central to the event was a nutritionist who enlightened students on the essential elements of a balanced diet. Additionally, fresh produce was provided to students, faculty, and staff, enriching their access to nutritious food options.

 

To ensure the event's success, I collaborated closely with my project partners, Feeding South Florida, and student volunteers. Together, we orchestrated the event and briefed volunteers on their roles. Volunteers played a crucial part in packaging and distributing food items to students, while all of us pitched in for the cleanup afterward. This collaborative effort was instrumental in making the event a meaningful step towards addressing food insecurity on our campus.
